saturday(in the park?)

at least that’s how the song goes…(my brain is sadly filled with a ton of not so usefull song lyrics) we started out in a park like setting near to where the main sessions of the Orgins conference will be taking place. Eric and I chatted with a few folks waitng for the morning session to start and also we had the opportunity to meet Vox guru/trailblazer Dean Sharp “great to meet you friend” is a pretty cool phrase we’ve been hearing quite a bit around here.

The morning started off with Alex explaining the arc of the “Church on Brady” three sucessful transformations in something like seventy years - First Bapist, Church on Brady, then Mosaic…really awesome story! After that we cruised over to the meeting room to hear from Dr. Brian D. Russell …or just Brian(or is that BRAIN?) for a non-bible-schooled guy like myself I thought Brians lesson was amazing! He spoke on a missional approach to reading the bible -great stuff, he made the overarching theme of God’s desire to restore us as humans make a ton of sense.Very eye opening and encouraging.

We had a lunch break where we were headed over to In N Out with a bunch of IMN folks including our international brothers and sister……how come English sounds so charming when they speak?

After lunch we had a sesion with Dan Reeves great stuff from a 30 year practioner …the analogy that’s been going around is it’s like taking a drink from a firehose - alot of great info to try to take in - my littie brain needs a rest.

As if the day wasn’t cool enough, we then headed to the Mayan for the Mosiac 5:00 service - WOW!

great space, energy, music, film, folks. Erwin was super - speaking on leadership……only one thing missing - where were Marty and the Love Hammers? we had a quick debrief with the IMN folks and Alex and then it was off to dinner.

Cheap, greasy, New York style pizza with Eric and our new bro Jon - then we strolled around downtown looking for gifts for loved ones back home ….a couple of pints and one slice of pie (I’ll let you guess who had what) then we headed back to the car

A middle aged guy approached and said “don’t worry, I’m not a serial killer”(comforting to get that cleared up) “I was wondering if I could have a couple of bucks to buy a slice of pizza for me and my girl”

“You want pizza? you’re in luck friend, I know the place!”

So the night ended with buying a large pepperoni for Anthony and his girl……Bless you Anthony - I hope we meet again.

Welcome to Voxtropolis! (I’m a little behind welcoming people as I’ve been in L.A. vacationing all last week!)

Great to meet you bro - keep in touch.

Sue

You didn’t have a pint of anything! More like a girly drink - I know you!

russ

Hey man, stay away from those pints…the Baptists really don’t like em!
Was great to meet you, unfortunately I don’t think I’ll make it up to visit you and harass the govenator…disappointing I know, but I’ll leave you with this piece of wisdom

Command is not a horse you ride all the time…WOO, however…

Sam.

Hey dude, how’s things? It’s been a while…you need to post again!

Sue

When Heath came home from Mosaic he went to the garage and grabbed a cardboard box. He then proceeded to walk to the closest bad neighborhood in Sac Town and has been living there since. What’s a wife to do?

cindy

Sue, I think I saw him under the bridge. He was eating a can of beans and drinking a bottle of Boonsfarm strawberry wine. Was that him? I’m still looking for my mystic experience.

Sam.

Is he still there? Likely to ever reemerge in the City of Voices?!

cindy

well, he manifested at the Sac Town Vox the other night. But other than that…oh, I think Eric said that he saw him at some random storage place.

Sue

Yeah, he’s sleeping on the Three’s Company sofa and soakin’ in the cool vibes of the 9′x9′ storage unit. Man, he’s so punk rock, but he better stick with the newspaper blankets if he wants to keep that anarchist image!

ericsweiven

Oh where? Oh where? Oh where; iiesss Heee-eath?

Sam.

Good to see you’re posting reguarly now, Heath.

russ

man,
